WhatsApp is releasing the new global voice note player feature for iOS beta and Business beta for iOS. The new feature will let users listen to a voice notes while remaining on a different chats. The Meta owned WhatsApp shared news about this latest under development feature on WhatsApp beta for Android only yesterday. Today the platform has announcement about iOS.

WhatsApp has been working on to improve the voice message experience on its app from the last few months. Normally voice message playback stops when you move out of the chat in which you have received the particular message.

But now, thanks to this new released feature which will allow you to listen to voice notes even when you switch to another chat. This feature was under development process for iOS beta. But now it is is finally rolling out to some beta testers on iOS beta. You can see that the new voice note player appears on top of the screen. You can also see that a voice note is being played on the chats list.

This means that a voice note that you are listening to will continue to play even if you swipe back or open another chat. The global voice message player has been released to WhatsApp for iOS beta version 22.1.72. Also to some beta testers on WhatsApp business beta for iOS version 22.1.72. Notably, if you cannot listen to your voice notes when you move to a different chat even after being on the latest beta version it could be because at current stage your WhatsApp account is not ready to allow you to test the feature.

So, you have to wait for the feature to be available for public in a future update.
