WhatsApp rolling out New Shortcut for Status Privacy Settings on Android Device

WhatsApp is working on New Shortcut for Status Privacy Settings for Android beta testers. The platform has submitted this update through the Google Play Beta Program with this update the version reaches to 2.22.6.2. The popular messaging app is reportedly developing a new privacy feature to manage your status settings which will be available to you in a future update.

Your status updates can only be viewed by someone if you have saved their phone number in your contacts and vice versa. You can choose either to share your status update with all your contacts or with selected contacts only. New shortcuts for status privacy is rolled out in this latest beta version of Android. This under development feature was reported to be available on a coming date. Additionally the platform has introduced a redesigned caption bar for you in this feature. This will allow you to check who will receive your media in a better way. The current update brings news on more developments of this feature.

The available screenshot released by the leading WhatsApp news reporter reveals that the Meta owned app is at present working on a new shortcut for you. This screenshot will enable you to edit the recipients who can view your status updates. The report further mentions that you can also select status updates from the new designed caption bar. You can spot the upcoming shortcuts for status privacy settings at the bottom of the screen when you tap ‘Status’.

This shortcut will enable you to quickly select those WhatsApp contacts with whom you want to share your current media or status updates. In the present version you have to go to your status settings to limit the recipients of your status update. The future update will save you from some extra taps. However as this feature is under development process it is not available to beta testers right now.
