Instagram, one of the popular social media platform is rolling out new image preview feature on Twitter. This Facebook owned platform is popular for sharing photos and videos. With this new update image preview will appear in your tweet when you share your Instagram post from public accounts.
This feature will highlight the content of your post and people will be able to see your content without opening your link. in a blog post Instagram said, “Our goal is to create a better experience for people who want to see a preview of Instagram content while scrolling on Twitter”. Currently, on Twitter stories won’t show up as previews. Read below how it works.
Instagram image preview on Twitter
To see the preview of Instagram post on Twitter, the Instagram account has to be public whether it be your own account or anyone else’s. When you write a tweet and attach a link to a public account post, you will be able to see an image preview as a twitter card along with a thumbnail in the tweet. If you want to share a story from Instagram to Twitter, the caption of the post will appear along with the preview.
When you click the link of the preview on Twitter, it will bring you straight to the post (image or video) on Instagram. You will get review of all types of feet post such as photos and videos carousels and reels when shared to Twitter.
further more, other than just sharing previews on Twitter you will also be able to set your Instagram profile on a website. You can share your profile previews and also approximately six of your latest images to encourage others to view more. United States will be the first to get this feature.
To embed any Instagram profile on the website go to the profile that you want to share. If it is your profile then you have to click the gear icon. If it is any other profile click ‘Embed’ and then ‘copy Embed code’. Then copy and paste the given code into your website for the profile preview to be displayed.
It is your choice whether your profile or public post can be embedded on other websites outside of Instagram by using a new control for embedded which is available in settings.
