WhatsApp is rolling out a new Search Message Shortcut feature for Android. This update has submitted through the Google Play Beta program with this update the version reaches to 2.22.6.3. According to reports the instant messaging app is enabling this feature for beta Android users. The platform has added a search option on chat details page in this current update.

As per report, it is confirmed that the popular Messaging platform is adding the search shortcut to the new designed contact Info page in the chat details section. This same shortcut will be visible to some users for group Info as well. This shortcut allows you to search in WhatsApp personal chats as well as group chats. The report further also mentions that the search shortcut is not working properly so far.

Even if the feature is available for your WhatsApp account, the new search shortcut may not appear to you in certain situations. As this feature is still being tested by the beta testers such things are expected to happen. But you will surely get the improved version in next beta updates. With this update the version reaches up to 2.2206.1.0. As per reports in this update the platform is introducing shortcuts for emojis. WhatsApp is rolling out a new user interface (UI) for voice calls. New update has been submitted through the TestFlight beta program. With this update the version reaches up to 22.5.0.70. Some users may receive the same update in a previous 2.22.5.70 version within WhatsApp settings. It is reported that in this update the platform is bringing a new interface while making voice calls.

WhatsApp has been testing voice call features from quite some time. The app was planning to redesign a new interface after making some developments on WhatsApp calls. According to fresh report the platform is adding a wallpaper voice call in the new design which cannot be edited at present. WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature ‘Documents Preview’. The update will be available to the beta Android users. The platform has submitted this update through the Google Play beta program. With this update the current version reaches to 2.22.5.11. It is reported that in this version the instant messaging app presents a new way to view image previews and videos shared as documents.

You all know that Meta’s cross messaging platform WhatsApp, is a popular social media which is known for testing and bringing new features to keep its users updated. This time it is enabling a new preview feature when you share image and video files in documents.

WhatsApp rolling out new Documents Preview feature

WhatsApp is developing new features to view media files. The developers team is working on a new user interface to get the preview when you share your images and videos as documents file. This will bring an improved document preview which will provide you with a better view of the content. A screenshot of the feature has been shared by a source.

In the screenshot you can see that an image which has been shared as a document now shows a proper preview of what has been shared. Till now as there was no preview you could not know the content of shared document. It only displayed a generic preview showing the file type and name. So you had to apply a second tap on the preview to get the details of the shared file.

At present this feature has been rolled out only to some beta testers. Certain beta testers may also get the same feature on some previous beta update. If you have installed the latest beta version but still don’t see the new interface after sharing an image as document, this means that the feature is not yet available for your WhatsApp account. However as image preview is still in testing it will take some time to reach the general public.
